Awards Nomination Information
Each year the Indiana CPA Society pays tribute to CPAs who have served their profession and/or communities in a commendable manner. The contributions these people make reflect positively on the individuals as well as the CPA designation.
Award nominations are due Aug. 12. Award recipients will be recognized at the annual CPA Celebration on Nov. 18, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.
Past INCPAS Awards recipients
Emerging Leaders Award
This award recognizes up to five up-and-coming leaders of the profession. Nominees must:
- demonstrate leadership or initiative within the profession
- have made significant contributions to the overall success of the nominee's employer
- be 34 years of age or under on Dec. 31, 2011
Outstanding Community Service Award
This award recognizes the outstanding service of a CPA to Society, CPA profession and community over a long period of time. Three to five recipients, representing different regions of the state, will be chosen. Nominees must:
- have made significant contributions to community service and the CPA profession
- have a long history of providing such services
Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award
This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of a CPA employed in public practice. Nominees must:
- be employed in public practice
- contribute to the growth and success of the his/her firm
- have an interest in providing emerging CPA services to clientele
Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award
This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of a CPA employed in business and industry. Nominees must:
- be employed in business and industry
- have been instrumental in the success of the nominee's employer, or have made a notable entrepreneurial achievement
Outstanding Educator Award
This award recognizes an accounting educator who has made significant contributions to education and to the profession. Nominees must:
- be either a full-time or recently retired accounting professor at an Indiana college or university
- provide excellence in classroom teaching and student motivation
- contribute to the CPA profession through active involvement in professional activities
CPA Advocacy Award
This award recognizes the contributions of an INCPAS member for advocating the CPA profession through government relations. Nominees must:
- have made significant contributions to the Society's initiatives in the legislative and/or regulatory arenas
- participate as a Legislative Key Person, Political Action Committee contributor or have played another role in governmental affairs
- advocate the CPA profession through relationships with state or federal legislators and/or regulators
