Roles and Responsibilities

The Indiana CPA Society strives to attract the best and brightest students into the CPA profession and create a better understanding of career opportunities as a CPA. With your help, we can answer the call for more proactive involvement and achievement of this goal.

As a School Key Contact, we encourage you to promote a positive awareness of the accounting profession among high school students. Other expectations include:

  • Initiate contact with assigned high school(s) and schedule periodic meetings with high school faculty and administrators.
  • Build excellent relationships with assigned high schools and encourage high school contacts to use the School Key Contact Program as a resource for presentations, events, and other affairs.
  • Facilitate presentations, job-shadowing events, career fair appearances, etc.
  • Work with high school contacts to determine which classes and clubs the target market of college-bound students are in at each school.
  • Deliver presentations to high school classes or groups that address the importance of the accounting profession, clarify common misconceptions, and highlight career paths within the accounting profession.
  • Ensure high school guidance counselors and teachers are providing the most accurate information about the accounting profession.
  • Be responsive to requests for high school presentations by Accounting for the Future students.
  • Complete an activity log to return to INCPAS at the end of each school semester.
