12:30-1:45 P.M. Breakout Sessions
  1. Leveraging the Power of Microsoft Teams App

John Higgins, CPA, CITP, CPA Crossings

In today's digital world, working in teams can be cumbersome. We have hundreds or thousands of files, emails, voice mails, notes and instant messages...all stored in different places. If you work in different teams, each team may have their own processes to communicate. There MUST be an easier way you can find all team items in one central place.

That is where Microsoft Teams in Office 365 comes to the rescue. Teams are collections of people, content, and tools that center around different projects and jobs within an organization. Teams is a central "hub" where all things related to the team are maintained. This includes files, chats, notes, tasks, messages, videos and more. In this session, you will learn how to bring together all of your team’s conversations, files, and tools in this single workspace.

  2. Microsoft Power BI: Improve Data Analysis with DAX Measures

Bryan Smith, CPA, CISA, CITP, CPA Crossings

This session focuses on improving your data so that it contains the information you need to analyze. A major issue of data analysis, is bad data, so this session will focus on turning bad data into good data. You will learn the difference between calculated columns and measures as well as how and when to use each. We will introduce DAX formulas and how they are used to create calculations. We will introduce PivotTables to demonstrate our calculations and measures and how they are used for data analysis.

2-3:15 P.M. Breakout Sessions
  1. OneNote: Mastering Organization of Your Notes and Correspondence

Bryan Smith, CPA, CISA, CITP, CPA Crossings

OneNote is rapidly becoming one of the most popular applications in the Office 365 product suite. The reason for this becomes evident when you learn about all that you can do with OneNote to record and manage notes, to do lists, meeting agendas and much, much more. This session will provide a thorough review of all the features of OneNote, so you can master them to organize all your activities and communications in one central place. You will be amazed at how powerful, yet simple to use, this application is.

  2. Take Your Office on the Road with the Office 365 Online and Mobile Apps

John Higgins, CPA, CITP, CPA Crossings

One of the unique advantages of Office 365 is the introduction of the Office online apps. These are versions of the popular Office apps, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, that are designed to be accessed through your browser instead of installing them on your local PC. They don’t replace the desktop apps, they extend them, along with the mobile Office apps. This session will review how you can fully leverage the online apps in your daily work and how they interact with the desktop and mobile Office applications.
