The Indiana CPA-PAC, a non-partisan organization, is the state’s sole political action committee representing the interests of the CPA profession.
Through the collection and distribution of funding to political candidates, we support electing legislators who will align with CPA’s key interests. This includes protecting the integrity of the license, creating better tax and business environments and building a stronger workforce in the state–including initiatives that support more CPAs entering the profession.
Why is the Indiana CPA-PAC critical to the profession?
The Indiana CPA-PAC puts your interests in front of Indiana’s critical decision-makers. Its goals are simple:
- To build and maintain relationships with critical contacts at the Statehouse. This includes representatives and other statewide positions and entities. These relationships are key to building trust and getting our voice heard when it comes to critical issues on the table.
- To support and elect Indiana candidates who will lead with the best interests of the profession and Indiana’s business community in mind.
Who oversees Indiana CPA-PAC contributions?
The Indiana CPA-PAC is led by CPA volunteers elected by the PAC trustees to three year terms who actively support the PAC.
These individuals lead fundraising efforts and work together to decide how contributions will be distributed among legislative campaigns, statewide offices like governor or comptroller, and House and Senate caucuses.
Various factors, including leadership roles, previous engagement with INCPAS efforts and professional background–including if they are a CPA–play a role in determining contribution amounts. PAC contributions are made to both political parties.
