By October 5, 2023July 10th, 2025No Comments

Credit Extension Relief and Reinstatement of Lost Credits

In response to significant health, economic, education and travel disruptions resulting in CPA Exam candidate hardships — coupled with anticipated negative impacts associated with the launch of a new CPA Exam on Jan. 1, 2024 — any Indiana candidate with CPA Examination credit(s) on January 30, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2023, will have such credit(s) extended to June 30, 2025.

The Indiana Board of Accountancy approved this policy at its September 22 meeting and added a notice to the Announcements section of its website.

So, what does this mean? Indiana candidates who LOST passed sections of the CPA Exam from Jan. 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023, will have their credits REINSTATED. They will now have until June 30, 2025, to pass any remaining sections.

NASBA notified all impacted candidates via email. Candidates with questions can reach out to INCPAS VP – Pipeline & Outreach Ali Tonini, CAE, for help with navigating the process.

Exam Expiration Dates are expected to be updated in the CPAPortal by November.
