Leadership Council ParticipantsThis free, 2-year development program is designed to create next-generation leaders who embrace and promote the CPA profession and Society within their organizations and communities.

Whether you’re an experienced professional seeking the next step in your career advancement or a leader aiming to help your team members in their career advancement—Leadership Council offers the in-depth assessments, discussions and training to get you and/or your team where you want to be.

Who’s Eligible:

  • INCPAS members with 5 or more years of experience as a licensed CPA and have an active CPA license
  • Demonstrated leader who is open-minded, curious and objective
  • Has a desire for continued engagement and leadership role with the Society and profession

Time Commitment: 40–60 hours (equivalent hours CPE)
Number of Meetings: 3 full-day meetings per year
Location: INCPAS Learning Center and other Indianapolis-area locations


Application & Selection Process

INCPAS will begin accepting applications for the 2023–25 Leadership Council class starting in April 2023, with a submission deadline of May 31, 2023. The program year begins in September 2023.

Applicants are reviewed by a panel of INCPAS team members and volunteers that will conduct phone interviews before choosing the final participants.

Leadership Council Facilitator

Jon Lokhorst, CPA, PCC, has facilitated this leadership program since 2018 and consistently receives top marks from participants. He is a leadership, executive and business coach, and Certified RightPath Facilitator. Prior to launching his own company, he worked for over 30 years as a CPA, CFO and organizational leader. He serves as adjunct faculty in the School of Business and Nonprofit Management at North Park University, as well as writes and speaks regularly on a variety of leadership topics.
