Get Involved with Advocacy at the Indiana CPA Society
Become a CPA Advocate.
Advocacy may seem intimidating, but it’s not. It starts with signing up to be a CPA Advocate and becoming familiar with the Society’s key advocacy initiatives. You will receive resources to help you stay informed on legislative issues and the Society’s advocacy initiatives. It will give you more background about what’s happening with key legislative issues and Society advocacy initiatives. Your elected officials need to know you are a resource to help address how bills will impact local businesses, your work and the profession. Join us as a trusted business resource and advocate.
Become an Advocate
Attend advocacy events. From behind-the-scenes Statehouse tours to Indiana CPA-PAC breakfasts and lunches and young pros after-hours events, there are several ways you can engage with elected leaders and the Society's lobbyist about key advocacy initiatives.
Volunteer on a committee.
Advocacy Council. Assesses the political, legislative and regulatory environment affecting
the Society and its members, identifies advocacy issues and proposes relevant policy and
Ethics Committee. Promotes the ethical practice of the CPA profession through
educational and enforcement activities.
Government Relations Advisory Council (GRAC). Considers legislative policies, current
position statements and other legislative or regulatory activities as they relate to the
Indiana CPA Society.
Indiana CPA-PAC Trustees. Oversees PAC fundraising and contributions to political
campaigns in accordance with the laws of the state of Indiana. The Indiana CPA-PAC is
overseen by the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office Election Division.
Tax Resource Advisory Council (TRAC). Considers legislative policies, current position
statements and other legislative or regulatory activities as they relate to tax issues.
Volunteer on a Committee
Stay informed. When members are having issues with tax, licensing or legislation, INCPAS shares real-time updates and resolutions in the members-only CPA Center of Excellence® Online Community. CPA Advocates have access to a private online community that shares behind-the-scenes updates from the legislative session and various action items.
Contribute to the Indiana CPA-PAC. The Indiana CPA-PAC is the only PAC that represents you and the CPA profession in Indiana. It supports the campaigns of candidates on both sides of the aisle, focusing on state legislators who represent the best interests of the public and CPA profession.
