IN MEMORIAM
The Indiana CPA Society extends condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the following INCPAS members who recently passed.
Robert (Bob) E. Boyer passed away on January 5, 2025.
Bob was born on January 23, 1948 in Gary, IN, to William and Carolyn Boyer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth A. Boyer, and children Jacquelyn Boyer (Patty Finley) of Chicago, and Scott Boyer of New Palestine.
Bob graduated from Valparaiso University in 1970. In 1970 he joined the Indiana National Guard and served for 6 years. He earned his CPA license in 1971and worked for Price Waterhouse in Chicago and then the Indianapolis office of the IRS for 30 years. After retirement he established a private tax practice and served as the Sugar Creek Township Trustee for 12 years.
Lawrence A. Coulter, a 50-year member, passed away on January 14, 2025.
Lawrence grew up on a farm working in the fields alongside his brothers, father and grandfather. He went to IU and earned his master’s degree in accounting. He worked as a comptroller for companies including Bowmar, Washington Iron Works, Penn Dixie and made moves to Chicago, Dallas, TX, various places in Indiana, and Seattle, WA, before moving with his family to Thousand Oaks, CA, where he was self-employed. He eventually moved back to Ft. Wayne, IN, with his family and worked as financial director for the Ft. Wayne Jewish Federation until he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elnora (Wicker) Coulter. They had 4 daughters; Eva Yvonne (Coulter) Miller, Shirley (Coulter) Busack, Gayle (Coulter) Passovoy and Janice (Coulter) Field, all of Ft. Wayne, IN and one son, Lloyd Lawrence Arthur (Pete) Coulter, wife Emilie Luciani, Escondido, CA.
Janice A. Miskus passed away on November 22, 2024.
Janice earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in accounting, management and computer science at Calumet College of St. Joseph, Hammond. A Certified Public Accountant in the State of Indiana, she was a valued member of The Hicko CPA Group, P.C., Merrillville, with 39 years of dedication. A member of the AICPA and Indiana CPA Society, Janice valued her career and the clients she served until her passing. She considered them friends, and most, like family.
Although her professional career was filled with many accomplishments, "Grammy" was her greatest title. There is nothing she was prouder of than her three children and their families. Janice was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, friend and professional.
